On December 7, 2018, ELCO High School held a  Blood Drive. This was an opportunity for the high school students to serve—and many did! Mrs. Bender reported some statistics from this blood drive, and her connection to it:

“The Elco School District now hosts 3 blood drives annually. We just recently had our first ever Winter Blood Drive on Friday, December 7th where we garnered 66 successful donations from 106 participants.”

“I started to get involved with blood donations/drives after my son was born prematurely and needed surgery, which required a blood donation. This helped me to realize the importance of donating and how great the need is for donors. I have since helped with donating blood since 2003 and helping with Elco Blood Drives since 2005.”

There are many people whose lives will be changed by the selfless acts of those who donated and continue to donate in blood drives.

Thank you to everyone who participated in and helped organize the Winter Blood Drive!
