This week’s post highlights a group of students in Mrs. Moyer’s class who participate in job training at Stone Ridge. These students also give of their time to serve there while they attend, and during their time training they refill water for the residents, clean railings, and spend time with the residents exercising, socializing, and playing games with them. Once a week, these students also help prepare and/or deliver meals to nearby inns.

Cassidy Watkins, a 10th grader in this class, stated:

“We clean the railings and the kitchen, and give fresh water to the seniors every Tuesday from 8:15-10:00 during school. It makes me feel happy, I like it. The residents don’t get many visitors so it makes me happy to go every Tuesday.”

It is so heartwarming to hear about stories like this, where students go out of their way to help others. These students are using their time not only to job train, but also to lift others and brighten their days. This is especially important for those who are not often exposed to such caring actions from visitors. Thank you to Cassidy, and Mrs. Moyer’s class for spreading kindness at Stoneridge and wherever you go!
