This week, ELCO Cares will be featuring Tyler Tulos, an ELCO Virtual Academy student. Over the summer, Tyler volunteered as a camp counselor at the Musical Theater Camp by the Lebanon Arts Council for two weeks.

Each session of the camp was a week long, and a show was performed at the end of each week. The kids only had one week to learn and memorize everything for the show. Tyler helped at the camp by blocking scenes, choreographing dances, and running lines with the kids. Several other high school students from surrounding school districts volunteered as well.
When asked about his experiences, Tyler stated, “This really shifted my perspective on theatre as I’ve only been in shows, and now I got a chance to co-direct. It really opened my eyes on how much time goes into putting on a show.” Tyler also mentioned how he became friends with several of the other camp counselors during his time as at camp, and this was an added benefit of his volunteer work.

Thank you Tyler for your service to our community! It is an awesome reminder that when we volunteer, we not only affect others positively, but have opportunities to build friendships as well!
