Last week, sophmore Noelle Eberly and junior Ashton Laucks took time out of their Sunday afternoon to serve the community through random acts of kindness. Noelle expressed how this experience affected her:

“After church our youth group had broken into small groups to spread random acts of kindness, we were given chalk to write messages on the sidewalks, chocolate and pieces of scripture to hand out, and a bag to pick up trash. Along with that my group went to the local laundromatand filled washing machines with money to bless the next customer.”

“By performing random acts of kindness it definitely gave me more respect for our community seeing how many people are disrespectful and litter the whole town. It also allowed me to see how just by smiling or giving a small compliment to someone on the street can make their day. Random acts of kindness revealed to me how important being kind really is.”

Noelle shared how serving others through random acts of kindness brought her joy and helped her to realize how much power kindness has. This is such an important message—kindness truly has so much power to uplift ourselves and others. We never know how big of an impact a small act of kindness can have.

Special thanks to Ashton and Noelle for using your time to serve! I would like to encourage everyone reading this to make an extra effort to be kind this week, to others and to yourselves. Both are so important! Have a great week everyone!
