Kyle Brubaker, a sophomore at ELCO High School, spent part of his summer last year serving in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on a missions trip through his youth group.

“A group of us went to Harrisburg PA and did some local outreach connecting to the locals. We also participated in landscaping and cleaning up local parks in the area. It was really cool to be able to connect and serve the people in the area.”

Kyle made a great point about service—it also gives us opportunities to meet and connect with people! There are so many positives that come from serving others, on both sides of the situation :).
Thanks Kyle, for giving your time to serve those around you! This is the last post for this year featuring a student, so thanks to everyone who submitted their stories to brighten the atmosphere of our school! And, thank you to those who serve others at any time—keep it up, no act of kindness is wasted, no matter how small. :) Happy Sunday everyone, and have a great Memorial Day weekend!
