Evan Swan: First Nomination!

Good afternoon everyone! As mentioned in the title, this was the first nomination post submitted to ELCO Cares. I would like to extend a reminder that yes, ELCO Cares is now accepting nominations to the page :). Special thanks to Mrs. Showalter for this nomination!

This post spotlights Evan Swan, a sophomore at ELCO High School and a volunteer firefighter for Richland. Evan selflessly gave time during his summer vacation to help those in need. In July 2018, he participated in a work mission trip in Gary, West Virginia, where he "spent time with local kids in the community and worked on fixing up a roof, painting, and weed whacking for a local homeowner." Evan states that this mission trip taught him: "Don't take the simplest things we have for granted, because not everyone has them."
