Over the past several weeks, juniors Ryan Miller and Ethan Balderrama spent countless hours planning a donation drive for Jubilee--contacting administrators, creating advertisements and collecting items to donate. Their goal: to not only collect donations to aid those who are in need during this Christmas season, but also to advertise for Jubilee and their cause, in order to help even more people in the future.
"We planned, advertised, and held a donation drive for Jubilee Ministries. Not only did we help them out by giving them lots of donations around Christmas time, we also got the word out about who they really are and all they do for the community."
This project is a wonderful example of selfless giving of not only items whose proceeds will go to those in need, but also of time and effort. Ryan and Ethan express how they felt uplifted through helping Jubilee Ministries.
"We already knew a decent amount about Jubilee and all that they do, but it felt pretty good to share this awesome information with others. It also felt good to actually accomplish something positive and feel as though we are making an impact in the lives of others."
Through this donation drive, Ethan and Ryan not only uplifted themselves, Jubilee Ministries, and those who will benefit from their drive, but also ELCO High School, in creating a project that gave students the chance to serve others. Selfless projects like this definitely help make ELCO a more positive place, so thank you to Ethan and Ryan for your contribution to making ELCO a more positive, caring environment!
