Carter Miller, a senior at ELCO High School has found a love for service through being a volunteer firefighter.

“I became a firefighter because I always had a passion for it and helping the community in the time of need a lot people don’t have the time to do it so I decided to step up to the plate and help my local fire company out. It also taught me I can put a little more good back in this world. Just by helping someone who is having the worst day of their lives we come in and cheer them up a bit. And that’s how I make a difference that’s why I became a volunteer.”

This is a great example of service because Carter shows how giving time to help and uplift others brings joy to those around us, and to ourselves. Thank you to Carter and to those in our community who go out of their way to serve others through volunteer firefighting!
