During this time of year, it is important that we reflect on our lives in gratitude, because the things we may take for granted are not available to everyone. On December 22, 2018, the ELCO Boys' Basketball team went a step further than being grateful, and served at the Lebanon Rescue Mission. Mitchell Gray, a member of the team, stated:

"We packed boxes filled with food for holiday meals for families in the community. We also packed bags of new clothes and candy for the residents of the Reese Mission. We also included a handwritten, encouraging note in each package and box to encourage them this holiday season. ... It was great to help others this holiday season. It was a great opportunity to help others in our very own community to have the things for Christmas that we take for granted every day (clothes, food, candy, etc). It was a good reminder that we need to give of our time to help others in need. A good reminder for all year, not just the holiday season."

The ELCO Boys' Basketball Team showed a great example to all of us, in selflessly giving of their time to serve those in need. Thank you, Mitchell, for your contribution to this post, and to the ELCO Boys' Basketball Team for serving and uplifting our community! We can all follow your example in helping others throughout this season and the entire year. Happy Holidays everyone! :)
